Reports are circulating that he is “Seriously Considering” Ending Presidential Bid This Month. This is actually quite shocking as he would have fit right in with Washington’s criminal underworld.
According to DC Whispers: “reports are circulating of a possible second GOP candidate giving serious consideration to dropping out of the race by the end of this month – New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.
Christie is facing the very real possibility of not qualifying with the other ten first-tier candidates in what will be the second Republican presidential debate scheduled for September. His performance at the first debate last week was most notable for the heated back and forth between himself and Senator Rand Paul regarding government surveillance and the need to abide by the confines of the 4th Amendment.
Paul took the position the government’s surveillance powers were significantly over-extended while Christie implied the senator’s views were dangerously ignorant and little more than “hot air.” Days after the confrontation between the two men it appears more voters are taking Senator Paul’s position over Christie’s as the New Jersey governor’s poll numbers continue to be stuck between 2 and 3 percent approval in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Senator Paul’s numbers have increased slightly or stayed the same in both states following his debate performance.
Christie is said to be preparing a final designated push in both of those states in the coming days and if that fails to improve his standing, he will most likely bow out by the end of the month.
