Gun Control Crazies Now Pushing To Lower Voting Age To 16

Oregon is now attempting to out-crazy California when it comes to gun control. Now, considering California for a minute, that is quite a statement to make. However, they may even pull it off. Not only are they considering a bill which will restrict ammo in such a way as to make guns not much more than expensive sticks, but they are also looking at dropping the voting age down to 16. The reason appears to be to allow anti-gun voters into the electorate. Sixteen-year-olds can already drive and pay taxes after all.

Gun Control Is The Real Reason Behind The Oregon Voting Age Measure

Soon, they may also be capable of voting in Oregon. Legislators are now considering an amendment to the Oregon Constitution that will reduce the voting age from 18 to 16. In the event that the bill passes, voters will decide on the proposition at the 2020 election. State Sen. Shemia Fagan, one of the bill’s sponsors, announced the measure on Monday.

“It’s time to lower the voting age in Oregon and give young people a chance to participate at the ballot about decisions that affect their homes, their clean air and clean water future, their schools, and as we’ve seen, their very lives,” Fagan stated during a press conference.

The bill’s sponsors say they want the amendment to eventually expand to national elections as well. Fagan used the example of the political activism of Parkland, Florida, students who pushed legislators to tighten gun control laws. All of their protesting followed on the heels of a gunman who killed 17 people at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School last February. All in all, it appears that the real reason for the legislation is to bolster progressive ranks, especially the anti-gun ranks.
