(Kurt Nimmo) Once again, MSNBC has dissed the Constitution and tar and feathered the founders.
This time PBS documentary filmmaker Mo Rocca reveals that when it comes to constitutional matters, he is an ignoramus like many of his government-funded colleagues (MSNBC received gobs of “stimulus” money and PBS has been addicted to federal largess for decades).
Rocca is aghast at the fact there is no explicit mention of “voting rights” in the Constitution. The First Amendment guarantees free speech and the Second the right to own firearms (although many libs disagree), but there is no specific amendment for voting.
There is a good reason for this. It is called the Tenth Amendment. It states:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States, respectively, or to the people.
According to the founders, the “right to vote” is a matter that should be left to the states and not dictated by the federal government, which was originally a very small and carefully watched over entity, unlike now.
Modern liberals (who are not classical liberals) are opposed to the principles of federalism and a republican form of government.
Big government loving Rocca made sure during his interview to get a jab in on the Founders, who modern libs invariably characterize as slave-holding sexist white men who spent all their time slaughtering native Americans.
Rocca characterized them as “deadbeat dads.”
